Email is the only channel, and it goes to the people who build mote. Replies within one business day, usually faster.
Write to support@motemd.com from the e-mail you bought with; keys are re-sent within one business day. A self-service licence portal arrives with 1.0. If that e-mail is gone too, write to us with your name and approximate purchase date.
Deactivate one from mote → License → Deactivate this device on any machine you still have. If a machine was wiped or lost, send us your order ID and we will release the slot the same day.
Keys are MOTE-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX, case-insensitive, hyphens included. Copy from the email rather than retyping. If the purchase was under ten minutes ago, Paddle may still be settling; try again shortly.
Within 14 days of purchase, email your order ID. No reason needed. Paddle refunds to the original payment method in 2–5 business days. The key is deactivated when the refund is issued.
This is the bug we care most about. Send the before and after files (or a git diff), your mote version, and the platform. We prioritize integrity reports above everything else and will reply with a finding, not a form letter.
mote follows CommonMark 0.31 and GFM strictly. Most differences come from non-standard extensions (wiki links, callouts, custom containers) that mote deliberately leaves as written. If the spec says it should render and it doesn't, that's a bug; send the snippet.
Line breaking follows UAX #14 through Pango. Word count is whitespace-based today; character-based counting for CJK is in development. If a specific string misbehaves, paste it in an email; these are usually quick fixes.
The app needs GTK 4.14 / libadwaita 1.5 (Ubuntu 24.04 or newer). On Wayland with fractional scaling, text is rendered at the compositor's scale; if a window does not appear, run GDK_BACKEND=x11 mote and tell us your compositor.
In development. mote ships for Linux today; the macOS and Windows builds are in development and have no date yet. Write to us if you want to hear when yours is ready.
Or email support@motemd.com directly. Include your order ID for license matters.
